Program Short Description
This interactive session investigates the idea of “right relationship”, from the teachings of Michael Kendrick. By identifying strategies to deal with relationship challenges, participants will be better prepared to manage relationships in healthy ways.

For many of us our place of work is someone’s home. Consequently relationships develop in various forms and challenges emerge. This workshop will explore the concept of “Right Relationship”, as defined by Michael Kendrick.
The participants will consider the impact of home as the workplace as well as clarify the difference between “friend” and “friendly”. The strategies explored during the workshop can reduce negative experiences of the vulnerable/older person
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of “right relationship”
- Identify the impact of the home as the workplace
- Understand what constitutes professional behaviour and a formal relationship
- Clarify the difference between “friend” and “friendly”
Target Audience: CHSP support workers, volunteers, other aged care workers - highly beneficial for frontline workers and volunteers. For best results team leaders and manager should have undertaken the session to enhance team practices and strengthen cultural changes.
